Allah made the very first person ever. His name was Adam (AS). Allah made him from clay, from the earth. Then Allah breathed a soul into him and Adam (AS) came alive.
The very first thing Adam (AS) did was sneeze. He said: Alhamdulillah! Allah said back: May your Lord have mercy on you!
Then Allah told Adam (AS) to go and greet a group of angels nearby. Adam (AS) said to them: Assalamu Alaikum! The angels said back: Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullah! Allah said: This is your greeting and the greeting of your children after you.
The very first words Adam (AS) said were praise for Allah. And the greeting of Assalamu Alaikum goes all the way back to Adam (AS)! Say it with love every single day. π
Allah taught Adam (AS) the names of all things. Then Allah said to the angels: Tell Me the names of all these things, if you think you know.
The angels said: We only know what You have taught us. You are the One who knows everything, the All-Wise.
Allah said to Adam (AS): Tell them the names. And Adam (AS) told them all the names. Then Allah said: Did I not tell you that I know all the secrets of the heavens and the earth?
Allah gave humans the gift of knowledge and learning. Every new thing you learn is a gift from Allah. Keep learning! π
Allah told Adam (AS) and his wife Hawwa to live in the garden of Jannah. Allah said: Eat from it freely wherever you like. But do not go near this one tree, or you will be doing something wrong.
Shaytan tricked them and they both ate from the tree. But straight away they said: Our Lord! We have done wrong to ourselves. If You do not forgive us and show us mercy, we will be lost.
Allah forgave them. Then Allah said to them: Go down from here. When My guidance comes to you, whoever follows it will not be afraid and will not be sad.
When we do something wrong, we ask Allah for forgiveness straight away, just like Adam (AS) and Hawwa did. And Allah forgives. π
Adam (AS) had two sons. Both of them gave a gift to Allah. Allah accepted the gift of one son but did not accept the gift of the other.
The son whose gift was not accepted said to his brother: I will kill you!
His brother said back: Allah only accepts from people who are good and fear Him. If you try to kill me, I will not try to kill you. I fear Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
But the brother did not listen. He killed his brother.
Then Allah sent a crow. The crow scratched the ground to show him how to bury his brother. When he saw this, he felt very sorry for what he had done.
Never let jealousy grow in your heart. When someone else gets something good, be happy for them. Fear Allah and keep your heart clean. π
When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) went on the Night Journey through the heavens, he reached the first heaven. There he met Prophet Adam (AS).
Adam (AS) was there. On his right side were the souls of people going to Jannah. On his left side were others. When he looked to his right he smiled and laughed with joy. When he looked to his left he cried.
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) greeted him: Peace be upon you, O father! Adam (AS) said back: And upon you peace, O righteous son and righteous Prophet!
Every person on Earth is a child of Adam (AS). We are all one family. Be kind to everyone, because we all go back to one father. π
Adam (AS) was the first person and the first Prophet. Allah gave him knowledge and chose him to look after the earth. When Adam (AS) and Hawwa did something wrong, they turned straight back to Allah and asked for forgiveness. And Allah forgave them.
